Episode 81: Alie Columbus is Breaking Ultra

Alie Columbus of Boise, Idaho is set her sights on becoming an ultra runner. She picked out a pretty cool local trail race to be her first 50k experience, The Wilson Creek Frozen 50k. Alie talked with Jess right before the race about what most exciting to her and what her biggest worries were. Then after Wilson Creek they talked again about how the race went and Alie shares some pretty inspiring words.

If you’ve been in the sport of trail and ultra running for a long time and maybe forgot what it was like to be new, then I urge you to listen. If you are thinking about doing your first 50k I think you’ll really be encouraged by Alie’s experience that she shares in these two interviews. Either way, Alie Columbus is a pretty awesome human that’s not afraid to try new things and do the work.
